..para qué nos quejamos? 02/02/2015

That's what our recent convert says when we ask him how he is... "Bien, para qué nos quejamos?"

I'm doing pretty well. It was a rather uneventful week. It rained, but we had paraquas. We found a few promising investigators. And we had interviews with our mission president. That was fun. I really do love my mission president. He's awesome. XD And we walked. A LOT. (looking for less-active members and whatnot)

I have run out of time, so I will just send a few pictures.

1.) In front of the church building where we have our district meeting.(we got there on time; everyone else arrived late.)
2.) On a relatively large pile of dirt, overlooking the city.
3.) Selfie!
4.) My sister took pictures with castles on her mish... I get my kicks taking pictures with "tijuana street". (and eating ahielito

Anyways, QUE TENGAN UNA BONITA SEMANA!!!!!!!!

LOVE YOU!

THERE CAN BE MIIIIRACLLLLLES WHEN YOU BELIEEEEEEEVE!!!!! 01/26/2015

HELLO EVERYONE! This week was AWESOME! Okay, first I want to start off telling you that my testimony of fasting has GROWN this week. My companion and I decided to fast this past Monday so that we could find new investigators and so that we could have investigators at church. Result: We found a family of 6 and 5 of those 6 WENT TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY! They liked it, but we're going to keep working with them so that they don't forget/lose those feelings. Also, I happened to find the secret to baptizing thousands. It is in Alma 26:22 and it says:
Yea, he that repenteth and exerciseth faith, and bringeth forth good worksand prayeth continually without ceasing—unto such it is given to know the mysteries of God; yea, untsuch it shall be given to reveal things which never have been revealed; yea, and itshall be given unto such to bring thousands of souls to repentance, even as it has been given unto us to bring these our brethren to repentance.
It's pretty awesome. Ammon was talking about the different things that he and his brethren were able to do to baptize the Anti-Nephi-Lehies. It's a really good chapter.  I found it in my personal study.
Also, this week we had a conference with the mission president and that was... interesting. He talked a lot about what to do in kidnapping situations and whatnot and it was kind of scary, but not really because I know that if we are obedient, Heavenly Father will protect us. But it's also good to know these things.
Something that the conference made me realize was that even though I haven't baptized as much as others and I haven't done a lot of things, I have progressed a lot andt I have been doing the very best that I can, considering the circumstances. I have nothing to be ashamed about and I am happy that I made the decision to come on a mission.

I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!

PICTURES!!!:
1.) This is what they call a "garrafón". This is how we drink clean water. A truck goes around and sells it for 13 pesos. And when we run out we exchange every bottle for a new one with water. (for 13 pesos). It's pretty cool, but kind of annoying. I miss drinking from the tap.
2.) This is The Glory of Tijuana
3.) Me with "La Gloria de Tijuana".

Feeling... Sad. 01/19/2015

So... We just had our third Sunday in a row without a single investigator. This is kind of horrible. I'm getting frustrated because we had 7 that had told us that they were going. One of them, we called about 20 minutes before Sacrament meeting and he told us that he was on his way. Either he was lying, or he got lost. We are hoping that it was the latter. Just... Pray for us. Please.

Now, I have written my own law. I call it "The Missionary Law". It's kind of like Murphy's law, but it's not. It's short and it goes like this: When a pair of missionaries has a great morning (meaning all of their appointments were there and received them), their afternoon is horrible. (meaning that no one is there and they get rejected a lot.)When a pair of missionaries has a terrible morning, they have an awesome afternoon. It is true. It has been proven. (By me and my companion.) IT IS LAW. Why? Because on Saturday, we had a HORRIBLE morning! Everyone kept rejecting us and we spent two hours walking around trying to find people to teach. And then we had a decent afternoon. We found an investigator that seems really ready to receive the gospel and had perfect questions and everything. But he was the one that may or may not have lied to us on Sunday. :P It WOULD have been better, but a couple of our investigators that we were visiting, sat us down and brought it to us gently: They will not be receiving us anymore. They are fine in their religions (one is catholic and the other is christian) and besides, nothing that the book of Mormon talks about agrees with normal christianism (apparently) and because they had never heard of Joseph Smith before obviously means that it must be a lie. And they prayed and got the answer that they were fine where they are and don't need to change. I cried. (Afterward. I wasn't going to show them my weakness.) We shared with them 2 Nephi 29:7-9 (I really wanted to read verse 6 but we both decided against it.) and I shared my testimony. Their sins will not fall over my head.

It was a hard week, but not every week can be sunshine and happiness.

I only have one picture and it is of the Tijuana temple at night. (It looks finished on the outside, but they say it won't be done until September. :P Sad day.)

HAVE A GOOD WEEK AND PLEASE KEEP US IN YOUR PRAYERS!

How YOU doin'? 01/12/2015

I'm pretty great. I'm pretty used to mission life right about now. But I keep thinking about home. (It's not my fault! My companion is going home in 5 weeks and we're both a little bit trunky.) But the Work goes on.

#missionaryproblems We have a lot of investigators that we are teaching but NO ONE wants to go to church! Two weeks in a row without even a SINGLE investigator! This is horrible!  #thestruggleisreal #imisshashtags

Anyways, I am running out of time, so I will just send pictures. (I'm sorry for the lack of awesome, spiritual stories... I can't remember them all under pressure. pressin down on me, pressin down on you, no man asked for...)

1.) IT SNOWED IN MEXICO. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!? (It's just on the mountain/hill but it's still pretty amazing. Everyone was freaking out. And now you know THAT IT IS COLD HERE.)
2.) This is what they call, "Rosca de Reyes". It's a Catholic tradition and if you get the "muñeco" you have to make and bring tamales on February 2nd. I almost got it. *sigh of relief*
3.) My companion. It rained yesterday.
4.) Me. Cold and wet.

Anyways, I will try really hard to send some spiritual stuff in the next e-mail. I LOVE YOU ALL Y QUE TENGAN UNA MARAVILLOSA SEMANA

TRANSFERS 01/05/15

..... We stayed the same. And that means that I will be saying goodbye to my companion because this is her last transfer. It also means 6 MONTHS IN THE SAME AREA. But it's cool. "I will survive".

In other news, tomorrow is my "cumple-mes" and I am turning 14 months old as a missionary. I officially count myself as one of the "old fogies" of the mish.

Also, I did not get sick from the slightly pink turkey, so it must have been okay.

The baptism will not me happening because the investigators were not keeping their commitments and as a result do not feel ready and therefore cannot be baptized. I will keep you posted on that one.

I have a few pictures to send so I will do that now while I am thinking of what else to say:
1.) My companion had never tasted a roasted marshmallow. "I can fix that." (we did it with the gas stove)
2.) Pikachu likes to wear my tag. He's a missionary too.
3.) DISTRITO MATAMOROS. (My district.)
4.) Me with our Zone Leaders. They're awesome. (And the one directly to my right goes home today. It's a sad day.)
5.) "CARAS CHISTOSAS".

Note to everyone: When the missionaries ask you if you know someone that can benefit from the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, SAY YES and give them they're address. There is no, "No, they won't like it" "they're not ready" "they're baptist/catholic/methodist/presbyterian/blah blah etc and won't want to listen" Just do it. If a name comes to your mind, it's PROBABLY because they're ready and the Spirit is indicating that it's their time. "Let the Holy Spirit Guide..."

You can probably tell we're having a lot of trouble with receiving referrals this week. (Not a single one in THREE WEEKS. THAT'S A LOT OF WEEKS.) If you love me, or, better, if you LOVE THE LORD, tell the missionaries about your friends! (If they're a member of another church... it's because they haven't found the truth yet!) It is my invitation to all of you to pray to know with whom you should share the gospel. He will answer, you will see.

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!
